The person who fills this position will be joining a dynamic team with an established collaborative management approach. The individual will work with various stakeholders and develop multi-million dollar enterprise hardware architecture installation, refresh, and upgrade plans for multiple sites. The person will oversee the architecture installation and testing to ensure all customer requirements are met.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Coordinate all program and project management activities for the design, installation, technical refresh and upgrades of JMS enterprise hardware according to established Navy and Center guidelines
  • Work closely with the program HW Lead to implement strategic program goals and objectives defined by the Air Force Sponsor, Systems Engineering Lead, Sustainment Lead, and Project Manager
  • Execute Program of Record (PoR) system design changes to meet program sustainment requirements
  • Define requirements in order to execute the annual hardware and software sustainment budget
  • Track the production and technical progress of multiple service pack baselines, and ensure the project manager has associated planning documentation for effective and efficient execution of program funds throughout the fiscal year
  • Participate in Hardware Engineering IPT meetings
  • Participate in site surveys of existing JMS deployments, future JMS deployments, and provide engineering guidance to the installation teams for efficient execution of installation planning and tasks
  • Provide engineering input for Installation Requirements Drawings (IRDs), PoR Baseline Production Drawings, and logistics support in the sustainment of the JMS Enterprise

Additional Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Program of Record (PoR) systems design and practical implementation of those designs at customer sites for development, test, or operational use
  • Knowledge of hardware systems products and composition of hardware system components into an orderable and reproducible manner
  • Knowledge of DoD 5000.02 Engineering Processes and relationship of those processes to hardware system design
  • Knowledge of ISO9001 Quality Management Systems and how they related to system baseline production and products
  • Ability to analyze technical plans, approaches, and designs for baseline hardware system infrastructures
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software infrastructure system issues in order to determine cause and corrective action to hardware component, network component, and virtual software component failures.
  • Ability to create logical and physical diagrams to assist in illustration of system baseline changes and architectures for internal and external system design and capture

Desired knowledge:

  • Knowledge of SSC-Pacific procurement processes, supporting documentation, and timelines for acquisition; hardware system drawings to support individual hardware systems or integrated system of system artifacts to support production and/or installation of baseline systems of record.
  • Familiar with VMWare, Microsoft, Red Hat, Oracle, Dell, Quest, IBM, CA Technologies, Cisco Systems, and other manufacturer licensing models for enterprise and development use
  • Familiar with AutoCAD and SolidWorks in the creation of mechanical drawings
